Day 30 07/07/2010
I finished the Spell painting this morning and started the long process of printing and mounting. I picked up some boards from Hobby Lobby (half off!), then headed over to Fedex to scan my traditional works. Idiot me, I missed several large sections of the works, so that was a waste of time. I ended up reverting to photography. Took several hours, but I got some acceptable photos out of it. I'll bring the actual pieces tomorrow so the professor can get a good look at them in person. Everything is mounted and ready for tomorrow. Enjoy the final versions. Add Comment Day 24 06/30/2010
This morning was dedicated to working on the Spell cover. I will admit that I wasn't happy with it at first, but it has grown on me. I went back and adjusted the position of the claws and added in the main character's legs. It really seems to help with showing where everything is. The afternoon was given to coloring the Halo WIP. I created an overlay layer and applied the color. I also saw that the horde in the back wasn't casting any shadow and fixed it. It's not quite done yet. Should be by the time I'm back home. There won't be any updates till at least Monday. I won't have any access to the net. Day 21 cont... 06/28/2010
I found the time last night to do even more work on the Halo: Flood cover. After viewing some inspirational art by Janashi on DA and concept art, I've decided to forgo any lines in this one. I'm more comfortable with lines in my art, but this feel right. Yet more detail on MC. On to the flood. Day 20/21 06/27/2010
Yesterday was too busy for me to do anything really, so I'll call it my day off. This morning, I continued detailing the Halo WIP. I pulled some more reference of the flood and the Library off the Internet, along with my trusty Halo art book. I pushed the group of flood behind the chief farther into the back. I'll add some detail into the mass towards the end. For the floor, I found a picture of the floor from the same level and copied it and dropped it in on an overlay layer, erasing the bits that cover the characters. The next step should be adding color. I don't expect to finish this one in the next few days. I'm saving it because the digital covers are easier to work on than the traditional. I need to start on the Spell cover tomorrow. | ArchivesCategoriesAll |
