The custom designed pistol I did for a client. I can't wait to see this in the film!
My client (who is doing the movie in Austin) picked up the pistols today, along with the dogtags and the tablet. I'm really proud of the guns and I can't wait to build some more. I've got one more item to build for the client, but after next week, I'll open again for commissions.

After graduation, I find that this is what has been filling my days:
-Waiting on agent's email about my book query
-Starting outline of next novel
-Doing two different freelance concept art projects
-Filling out forms for local art show and hospital displays
-Working on personal cosplay
-Working on commissioned props
-Personal paintings
-And of course working at the pool.

I know its a few days late, but I'm finally able to report and what GDC was like. Or at least the small portion that I got to see.
There was a total of five different seminars that I got to attend. Each had it's own unique message, but there was an overall theme about resumes, interviews, and networking. Lots of notes taken. But I'm happy with some of the stuff that I heard.  I seem to be doing some stuff. Doing team-based work outside of school. Using Linkedin.  Doing lots of art, in various styles and programs. Having working knowledge of other programs.
I just need to start getting my online portfolio straightened out and then start sending out my resume.

With GDC tomorrow, I've decided to do a quick run-over of my resume. I added some other jobs I've taken on and fixed some spelling errors. Silly me. Spelling was never my strong suit.

Doing concept art for Awkward Games now. Really excited. No pay, but it will add to my portfolio and experience. Got permission to post some of the stuff I do. So I might just do that later.

Just finished Jill's Gaia avatar. Did it on Painter 10 using the digital watercolor option. It's a softer look than Kats. More painterly. I'm happy with it.

Spent some time on the job board at conceptart.org. Sent some emails out. I figure that I need to let people see my stuff. Need to build up my portfolio and resume. Got two replies. One said that my stuff was too advanced for their project. Guess that it makes me happy.

On the artistic note, going to being on a series of Halo paintings, focusing on the weapons of Halo 3. The laser cannon will be the first of many.
Will also begin to send out emails to different video game companies in the Austin area. I'm curious as to what they are looking for in a concept/character/storyboard artist. Degree, portfolio, experience and the like.
Forgot to mention, but did some real cool stuff on my ds. I can't wait to post them.
