Did the pencils for my first page of my comic today on a beautiful peice of bristol. My scanner is way too small and adds way too much shadow. I need to find somewhere to scan it in. I'm not sure if it will inked or even colored. If colored, maybe traditional watercolor.

Oh. And I got my camera to work. Here is the beginning of the painting I'm working on. It used to be many things...

After spending much of yesterday viewing other people's comics, ie Tracy Butler, I've decided to try and start mine. I've looked at some of the scripts available and would prefer to tell my own story. This should give me some good practice. I know that it will suck at the beginning, but with time and paitence, it should begin to click. I hope. lol

Going to be doing some tutoring for the local school district to earn some extra cash. Math and science. Easy stuff.

Decided to post up some personal character designs for a comic I'm thinking about doing.

Found a site with several professional comic book scripts from actual published comics. Read one while I looked at the cooresponding book. It really helped to show me how the artist worked with what the writer wrote. Some material wasn't used while some added. It really helped.

I think I might take a few and see what I can do with them, then compare them to the actual work. See how I can improve my storytelling abilty and such.

Also, haven't said anything about this yet. But I'm working on a novel too. I would like to do a graphic novel, but not with this one. It just feels better in writing. Might change my mind later on when I feel more confinent about my comic skills.

Did some faces today. Need to do this more. Some zombies from Shaun of the Dead. Need more zombie research material.

Learned that sucessful people have at least 10,000 hours of practice devoted towards their craft. I did the calculations. I need about 3,000 more. That means drawing 8 hours a day for the next year, or 4 hours a day for the next two years. Wow. I'd better start.

Spent most of the day looking at Ryan Ottley art work and working on my own stuff. Finished a quick sketch of myself for the comic.  I'll have the rest of the crew ready for viewing as soon as the outfit situation is dealt with. I also worked on the tree painting a bit, fixing up the clouds.
