And I am graduated. Kinda. I won't really, officially know if I'll get my diploma till tomorrow when they official release grades. I'm not worried. I'm 99.99999% certain I passed all my classes. My grandmother and cousin were kind enough to fly down for 48 hours. It meant a lot having them there. The ceremony was short. Only two colleges walking. Fine Art and Applied Arts. Mom was a bit upset when she saw that I didn't get any cords though I have a 3.7 gpa at least. I had to explain how I was a transfer student and needed to have completed 60 hours at Texas State to get cords. I only did three semesters there. Barely 50 hours.
After the ceremony, everyone went to Fogo De Chao for one of the most expensive and amazing dinners I've ever had. My closest friends got to come along too. During the dinner, a bug ran out onto the table. It didn't bother anyone one, but the owner kept apologizing and sent out free desserts for everyone at the end. As if I wasn't already stuffed.
Now I'm enjoying my break and finishing up on my cosplay for Ikkicon. I'll start sending out my portfolio after the New Year. I plan to submit my novel by the end of January as well.
Almost forgot, but my grandmother got me an Ipad as a bday/graduation/xmas present. I'm still getting used to it. Here's my first attempt with the ArtStudio App.
First Ipad sketch
I'd like to say think you to everyone who visited my table during Exit Review. My ego got some much needed stroking and I have a bit more hope of having a career in Illustration and Concept Art. I even got to meet the Big Illustration teacher whom I never got to have a class with. Of everything I had on my table for people to take with them, only one of my resumes where taken and I believe that at least 10 of my business cards were picked up. I got introduced to a self-published comic art who said that he might be interested in having me do some covers for him.
I have to admit that I spent a good portion watching the doors for two groups of people who were invited. If they ever showed up, I have not clue. Guess I'll have to send them my resume after the New Year. Till then, I'm spending all of my freetime trying to finishing up a cosplay in preperation for Ikkicon. 10 days. Seems so short, but we've done more on less time. I have faith.
I had a teacher say an interesting thing to me during my last class with her. She said that she was sorry that she hadn't been able to teach me more. I told her that it wasn't a problem. I'd learned what I'd needed to from my first school. This one gave me the time to perfect it.
Time to post some of my finals then. The final for Poster Design was poster a few days ago. My interactive final was the last post. Hope it didn't scare anyone off.
Here's the cover to a comic I did for my Special Problem's Class. The whole process for the creation can be found in my other blog. It pops up right under this one's buttons. I'll be posting all 16 pages on DeviantArt.
