New illustration for the 405th. Now to get to work on my two traditional paintings. lol 1 Comment No art update today. Been spending most of my time working on cosplay. Got most of Sai put together, just need some of the extra items constructed. Team has been working alot on our skit. We got a final recording done. I'm just putting it all together with the music and the silent periods. We should be practiceing movement this weekend. I'm really excited about doing a skit! I hope we do well and people actually like it... As for the art, I need to get started on a piece for the 405th, a painting for a local exhibition, and something for the art auction at A-fest. I'm still torn between Halo or Naruto. Not sure which will have a better reception. Another kid on a dragon. This time, at the beach. Alot of people seem to be getting a Miyazaki vib from it. I was thinking of Micheal Whelan while doing it. Oh well. Both are good in my book. Seems since I got nominated and won the member of the month thing for the 405th, I've gotten to meet alot of new people in the group. One being Ithica. He's one of the better known members and a really cool guy who loves making props. I'm sure he'd devote his entire life to it if he didn't have to work a real job. But, I went down to hang out with him and his wife, bringing my brother and two friends along. We decided to take our armor to 6th street. For anyone not familiar with 6th street, its the street to go to on friday and saturday nights in Austin. The cops close it down to protect those walking around and it's lined with bars, clubs and resturants. So, we took two cars and parked under the bridges and changed into armor. Carl got to borrow a new suit to wear, including a recon helmet. I wore my suit. Wow. There weren't very many people who could tell that we were from Halo. The responses ranged from Transformers and G. I. Joes, to Power Rangers and even the cops. WTF? I'll chalk it up to how drunk the people where. We even had a homeless guy follow us around chargeing people to take pictures with us. I wonder how much he made off us... Carl got about $15 in tips and I had a pair of lesbians stuff some bills in my belt. lol. Interesting night to be sure. Finally got around to doing a dragon painting for a friend. I'm going to continue with this theme and do at least two more. They'll be digital though because I don't have anymore canvas. |
