A friend of a friend is doing this show out in Cali. The more people who know about it, the more episodes will be made. What's not to like about cartoons/shows from the 90's, entertaining quizzes and interviews with Dante Basco? 

Helping my brother out with a costume. Spent the day doing a quick model of the berserk helmet from the manga by the same name. It's low poly because that makes it easier to convert in Pepakura. And we don't mind doing a little extra work. The pepakura just provides a base to work on. 

I'm thinking it's time to start selling some masks. At this moment, the Silence is the first up to bat. I've opened up an Etsy store under my group's name of Shinka Studios and we'll be selling stuff there. I should have at least one mask posted there within the month.  And for those interested in custom commissions (helmets, weapons, and masks) I've put in a commissions form on my site under the resume/about tab.

Finally found the time to post about all this....
Week began with a three day SFX class hosted by Matt Valentine from FACEOFF. I'm happy to say that I knew a good amount of what we went over. The real learning took place when it came to the wound make (never done before) and Matt using Ultracal 30. I have the worst luck with plasters of any kind. It's a miracle that any of my casts actually work. I took detailed notes on amounts used and timing, so I'm excited to try my hand with some Ultracal when I pick it up later this week. Of course, another plus was all the connections I made during the class. If you want to get a head start on the basics of SFX, I recommend taking one of his classes. And if you are above that level, he should be offering a sculpting/casting class close to Halloween!

Then came RTX and film fun down in Austin. A bunch of 405th friends and I started filming a little fan film that should be finished in the coming month or so. The filming continued at RTX, where I went to the Halo 4 panel and saw some pretty awesome things. All I can say is, I need to play the game. Again.
Oh, and if you see any videos/pictures of spartans at RTX acting like idiots and running through the halls, that us!
And some progress on Lynx. Got both my hands cast and I'm now adding clay to make them look more masculine. Just need my face cast. And I've been experiementing with how to lay down fur. The punching method looks pretty good so far, but I'm still going to try electro-static flocking.
