I'll be putting up another seperate blog in a few months. It will still be on this site, but will deal with my special problems class I'll be taking. I'll be uploading all my daily progress for the teacher to see. Of course everyone can look and comment too.
Still won't be posting the storyboards. Got them back from the professor last night and there are some things she'd like changed. I agree with some of them. Others, I might argue a bit when I re-turn it in either this week or the next. One of the big things we both agree on is that I need to focus on my line work because it's where my strength is. So, I'll be going back and adding lines to everything, along with deepening the blacks and rethinking the angles on certain shots. I'll be putting up another seperate blog in a few months. It will still be on this site, but will deal with my special problems class I'll be taking. I'll be uploading all my daily progress for the teacher to see. Of course everyone can look and comment too. Add Comment No. I'm not posting the storyboards this time. The teacher is going over them and might request changes. If so, it will be even longer before I post. Next. Finished my illustration for said book cover assignment. I picked the novel Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. Wonderful series. Helps that they just announced an HBO series too. I think it's safe to say that my wacom is broken in. lol Received it over spring break when I began the digital process for the storyboards. There is a total of 14 pages, with each page taking at least an hour, if not more to complete. With six blocks on each, that puts me at around ten minuets on each. I mention this because I've been meaning to practice speed painting have been doing this entire project. lol While doing this, I though back to what my storyboarding teacher at AID taught me about it all. I wanted to focus more on the story and gestures of it all. Now, if this had been a comic *cough*, then I'd spend way more time on it. But I'm happy, I think. It's a bit late for me to really tell at the moment. Guess I'll see when I print it off for the teacher and hand it in. I might post it later if I'm still liking it. Now, to bed! And so my spring break is ending... With my eleven days off (yes eleven), I have managed to finish all of my homework and projects, do a bit of concept work, and hang with my friends. If only my spring break hadn't been a week early, than I would have been able to go with them to Vegas. Oh well. I did get to go to Enchanted Rock yesterday. Got some nice new brusies from that. But the most exciting part was that I got to fly today. Being the daughter of a pilot, I've always loved planes and helicoptors. Dad got a friend to take us all up for a few hours, even letting us control the plane during the take-off. The landing was a different story. I wouldn't have wanted to do that part anyway. Carl is a natural at flying. I almost got sick during his session though. I blame it on sitting in the back. The bumps are worse there. When it was my turn to control the plane, it took me a bit longer to get adjusted to the controls. But it became almost second nature by the time we landed. One more note too: Got my hair cut. This seemingly unimportant note is important because the new cut is based off of Lightning from FFXII. I'm even tempted in the future to have my hair colored like her's. Just finished my first paid commission. I'd done commissions on Gaia before but that's different. TA-DA! I found the pink armor to be an interesting challenge. I'd only done one other pink spartan before, though digitally. And I'd like to thank my MC action figure for being such an amazing model throughout this process. Seems my spring break is going to be busy. Not out in some amazing local, but busy with homework and freelance stuff. Of course, the addtion of my new Intuos 4 tablet helps. It was amazing to use last night. I just have to get used to having all the bottons assigned to whatever I need instead of using the actual keyboard. To break it in, I've decided to redo an old illustration. The one with the boy riding the dragon. And I've decided to enter a little art 'contest' on the blog of the AD for Wizards of the Coast. Also, as stated on the first page, I'm going to be doing some small updates to the site. Mainly, removing and updating the artwork in the portfolio section. One last note: I'll be done with the commission soon and will posting. I just need to do some more digital mockups to make sure I've got the angles right before I actually add in the final touches. |
